FLIGHTS
OF FANCY
The
Beard Pond Art Group announced that they will be holding their second
collaborative art exhibit entitled “Flights of Fancy”
from September 6 through October 11, 2008 at the
Galletly Gallery at The New Hampton School in New Hampton, NH.
The
Beard Pond Art Group formed in 2000 by four women artists to support
and inspire each other in their artistic endeavors.
Members
include fiber artist Cheryl Christner of New Boston, print-maker
Gail Hersey of Weare, wildlife artist Rosemary Conroy of Weare,
and painter Karen Salerno of New Boston. This show, their second
exhibit as a group, will include both two- and three-dimensional
creations incorporating traditional and non-traditional techniques,
all centered around the theme of air.
An
opening reception will be held on Friday, September 26 from 5 to
8 pm at the Galletly Gallery at the New Hampton School
in New Hampton, NH. For directions and more information, please
call 603-677-3513 or visit www.newhampton.org. Regular viewing hours
are Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
The group decided to pursue an elemental theme with what they hope
will be a series of four art exhibits. Two years ago, they exhibited
“Ponderings,” which featured art of an aquatic nature.
The artists, who are all nature-lovers, decided to tackle air as
their next theme. This show, called “Flights of Fancy,”
will feature artwork focusing on birds, butterflies, weather, and
other aerial endeavors.
